Childhood
Born and raised in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, Vishal Ranjan Mishra finished his education there. He continued on to earn his MBA in fashion by enrolling at NIFT Bengaluru.
Career
He began his professional life directing short films and criticizing movies. He directed two short films, the first of which, The Musk, won Best Debut Director at the 2009 Rio Film Festival.
Coffee with D, which starred Sunil Grover, Dipannita Sharma, and Anjana Sukhani, was his directorial debut. The movie opened in theaters in January 2017.
