A Sikh family in the village of Dosanjh Kalan in Phillaur tehsil, Jalandhar district, Punjab, India, welcomed Diljit Dosanjh into the world on January 6, 1984. His mother, Sukhwinder Kaur, stays at home while his father, Balbir Singh, worked for Punjab Roadways in the past. He has a younger brother and an older sister as siblings. In 2003, Finetone Cassettes, a T-Series subsidiary, published Diljit’s debut album, Ishq Da Uda Ada. Dosanjh’s first name should be spelled Diljit rather than Daljit, according to Rajinder Singh of Finetone, who assisted him in making his breakthrough in the Punjabi music scene.
