Born in India on March 29, 1975, Tejinder Singh “Babbu” Maan is a singer-songwriter, music director, actor, and producer of motion pictures. His artistic endeavors are mostly focused on Punjabi movies and music. He is acknowledged as one of the most prominent musicians in Punjabi music.
Childhood and early years: Maan was born on March 29, 1975, as Tejinder Maan in the Punjabi village of Khant Maanpur in the Fatehgarh Sahib district.

In 2001, he released his third album, Saaun Di Jhadi, which included songs like Chan Chanani, Raat Guzarlayi, Dil Ta Pagal Hai, Ishq, Kabza, and Touch Wood. In 2004, Maan released his fourth album, Ohi Chann Ohi Rataan. Two years later, in 2005, he released Pyaas, which at the time was one of the best-selling Punjabi albums ever. Maan’s first Hindi album, Mera Gham, was released in 2007.
His first religious album, Singh Better Than King, was released in 2009. One of the latter’s songs, Baba Nanak, was a response to impostor saints and preachers in Punjab and sparked plenty of discussions regarding the expanding issue in the region. The Brit Asia TV Music Awards awarded him “Best International Artist” in 2010.
Nine years after leaving Punjab, Maan’s first Punjabi commercial album, Talaash: In Search of Soul, was released on July 4, 2013. On Billboard’s World Albums chart, the album debuted in the top 10. 2018 saw the release of Ik C Pagal, and 2015 saw the release of the album Itihaas.
