Childhood and professional life
In Punjab, Sukhwinder Singh was born in Amritsar. within the Bhatti household. There are four brothers in his family. His teacher in music was Professor BS Narang. After joining Laxmikant-Pyarelal’s group and releasing the Punjabi album Munda Southhall Da with T, Singh soon advanced to the position of music arranger before moving to South India in search of employment. For the Tamil movie Ratchagan, he sang.
With the song “Aaja Sanam” from the movie Khilaaf, Singh made his Bollywood debut. Most people were not aware of this performance. Singing “Chaiyya Chaiyya” for A. R. Rahman in the movie Dil Se… brought him to stardom for the first time and earned him a Filmfare award.
